Summary of Key Activities

The Network has consulted with families and youth about the needs of people with experience relating to suicide in Ottawa. All Network members completed a survey about what was being done in suicide prevention, intervention, postvention and research within their sectors so we could promote greater integration and collaboration. We learned about the common challenges, opportunities, and issues. We started to think of how to pool knowledge and resources to promote a more effective response to this serious public health issue.

As part of the Network, organizations build a foundation that allows for a highly responsive action plan for our community. Everyone benefits from the collective knowledge of the group. Members are more informed of best practices and community perspectives, and events have greater reach and connections to larger networks of people and communities.
